Design programs at IIAD
Indian Institute of Art and Design (IIAD), New Delhi - invites applications for admission in Degree and PG Programmes. These are supported by the Kingston School of Art, London. Admissions are made through an entrance test and personal interview. Selected candidates will be awarded merit cum means scholarships as per the rules.
Degree program
It is a BA (Hons) program. It has a total of 200 seats.
Specializations: Interior Architecture and Design, Fashion Design, Fashion Business Management, Fashion Communication, Communication Design.
Program Details: The duration of the degree in Fashion Business Management is three years. The duration of the degree with other specializations is four years. These include the first-year foundation course. In the next three years, there are courses related to the specialization chosen by the candidate.
Eligibility: Passed Inter/ XII/ Equivalent course with Science/ Commerce/ Humanities/ Arts subjects. A minimum of 50 percent marks is mandatory. Current final-year candidates can also apply. CBSE, ICSE, NSIOS, CIE, ISC, and IHNB candidates are also eligible. Candidates who have done a diploma in design disciplines can get admission in the second year through lateral entry. They will be selected through personal interviews and portfolio assessments.
PG Programs
The duration of the program is two years. You can withdraw from the program after completing the first year. They are awarded PG Diploma. There is a total of 20 seats in the PG program.
Specialization: Fashion Business Management
Eligibility: Any degree pass from a recognized University is eligible. Those who are currently writing their final year exams can also apply.
Entrance Test Details
• For entrance Management Aptitude Test (IMAT) will be conducted in the Fashion Business Management department. In this, multiple choice questions and writing tasks are given. Questions are asked to determine the candidate's knowledge of logical reasoning and creative thinking. Candidates who qualify for this test will be called for a personal interview. Design aptitude test is conducted for admission in fashion, communication, and interior architecture design departments. It will ask visual tasks, writing tasks, and multiple-choice questions. Questions are given to test the candidate's understanding of creativity, visual ability, cultural awareness, and logical thinking. Admissions are given based on merit obtained in this examination. The duration of the Management Aptitude Test/ Design Aptitude Test is two and a half hours. These are conducted in English medium. Total Marks 200.
