Army recruitment for B-tech Graduates

Indian Army has released a notification for the recruitment of 191 Tech posts. Candidates who have completed B.Tech and currently studying final year courses can compete for these. Women can also apply. Appointments are based on the talent shown in the interview. Selected candidates will undergo training at Officers Training Academy (OTA), Chennai. Those who complete it will be awarded a PG Diploma and commissioned with the rank of Lieutenant. From the first month, they will earn around Rs. One can get a one lakh salary. Army fills Short Service Commission (SSC) Tech Men and Women posts twice a year. 175 vacancies for men, 14 for women, and 2 for army widows.

2 posts are reserved for defense widows.

Those who have passed engineering in the respective disciplines and are currently in final year courses can apply. Candidates who have completed M.Sc.Computer Science/IT, M.Sc.Electronics are also eligible for Computer Science and Electronics vacancies. Defense widow

Candidates who have completed any graduation are eligible for one of the vacancies and engineering candidates are eligible for the other.

Age: Should be between 20 to 27 years as on October 1, 2023. That means those born between October 2, 1996 - October 1, 2003, are eligible. The maximum age of army widows should not exceed 35 years.

Selection: Applications received will be shortlisted based on academic (B.Tech/MCC) marks. Interviews will be conducted at the selection centers for those who pass the filter. ForTelugu states people, they will take the oral test in Bengaluru. These are conducted under the supervision of a Psychologist, Group Testing Officer, and Interview Officer. The two phases will last for five days. Those who clear Stage 1 on the first day will proceed to the Stage 2 interview which will be conducted over the next 4 days. Those who are successful in this will undergo a medical examination and be admitted to training.

Training and Wages

Training will start from October 2023 at Officers Training Academy Chennai. Its duration is 49 weeks. During this time a stipend of Rs.56,100 will be paid every month. The University of Madras awards a Post Graduate Diploma in Defense Management and Strategic Studies degree to those who complete the training. Later, he will be commissioned as a lieutenant. They can continue in the job for ten years. After that, according to the requirements of the organization and the interests of the candidates, some are taken on permanent duty (Permanent Commission). For the rest, the service will be extended for another four years. After the period they have to withdraw. Those who joined as lieutenants, captains with two years of experience, and majors with six years of service. At the age of 13, one can reach the rank of lieutenant colonel. From the first month of the job, they will get a basic salary of Rs.56,100 (Level 10) along with Rs.15,500 military service pay, DA, HSA, and other allowances.
